Lyrics/ Letra:

Alecrim, alecrim aos molhos

por causa de ti

choram os meus olhos

Ai meu amor

quem te disse a ti

que a flor do monte

era o alecrim

Alecrim, alecrim doirado

que nasce no monte

sem ser semeado

Ai meu amor

quem te disse a ti

que a flor do monte

era o alecrim

English

Rosemary, tons of Rosemary

because of you

my eyes cry

Oh my love

who told you

that the flower of the hill

was the rosemary

Rosemary, golden rosemary

which is born on the hill

without being sown

Oh my love

who told you

that the flower of the hill

was the rosemary

:)

Olá! Bem-vindos a Mia Esmeriz Academy.

Eu sou a Mia e estou aqui para vos

ajudar com o vosso Português.

Hoje decidi trazer-vos mais uma música tradicional

portuguesa.

portanto desculpem alguma coisa. Então, cá vai:

Alecrim, alecrim aos molhos

por causa de ti

choram os meus olhos

Alecrim, alecrim aos molhos

por causa de ti

choram os meus olhos

Ai meu amor

quem te disse a ti

que a flor do monte

era o alecrim

Ai meu amor

quem te disse a ti

que a flor do monte

era o alecrim

Alecrim, alecrim doirado

que nasce no monte

sem ser semeado

Alecrim, alecrim doirado

que nasce no monte

sem ser semeado

Ai meu amor

quem te disse a ti

que a flor do monte

era o alecrim

Ai meu amor

quem te disse a ti

que a flor do monte

era o alecrim

Mais uma vez. Agora podem tentar cantar comigo:

Alecrim, alecrim aos molhos

por causa de ti

choram os meus olhos

Alecrim, alecrim aos molhos

por causa de ti

choram os meus olhos

Ai meu amor

quem te disse a ti

que a flor do monte

era o alecrim

Ai meu amor

quem te disse a ti

que a flor do monte

era o alecrim

Alecrim, alecrim doirado

que nasce no monte

sem ser semeado

Alecrim, alecrim doirado

que nasce no monte

sem ser semeado

Ai meu amor

quem te disse a ti

que a flor do monte

era o alecrim

Ai meu amor

quem te disse a ti

que a flor do monte

era o alecrim

E é isto! Mas sobre o que fala esta canção?

Ela fala, simplesmente, sobre o alecrim que é uma

planta também usada para cozinhar, por exemplo,

e para muitas outras coisas. Eu vou pôr a tradução

da letra aqui em baixo, para vocês poderem perceber

melhor do que se trata esta canção. Agora, espero

ENGLISH:

Hello! Welcome to Mia Esmeriz Academy.

I'm Mia and I'm here

to help you with your Portuguese.

Today I decided to bring you another traditional

Portuguese song. It's great to be able to learn Portuguese

through music. It can be especially good for

those who have children and are teaching them Portuguese

as well. But it's great for both kids

and adults. In addition, you can get

to know a little more about the Portuguese culture,

which is always good! The song I chose for

today is called “Rosemary” and I learned it from my

parents and siblings. This type of song is passed by word

of mouth and that's how it's taught!

So I'm going to play this song on my Ukulele and

I'm going to try to sing it at the same time. Once again

I want to say that I'm not a professional singer,

so I’m sorry in advance for anything. So here it goes:

Rosemary, tons of Rosemary

because of you

my eyes cry

Rosemary, tons of Rosemary

because of you

my eyes cry

Oh my love

who told you

that the flower of the hill

was the rosemary

Oh my love

who told you

that the flower of the hill

was the rosemary

Rosemary, golden rosemary

that is born on the hill

without being sown

Rosemary, golden rosemary

that is born on the hill

without being sown

Oh my love

who told you

that the flower of the hill

was the rosemary

Oh my love

who told you

that the flower of the hill

was the rosemary

Once again! And this time you can try to sing along with me:

Rosemary, tons of Rosemary

because of you

my eyes cry

Rosemary, tons of Rosemary

because of you

my eyes cry

Oh my love

who told you

that the flower of the hill

was the rosemary

Oh my love

who told you

that the flower of the hill

was the rosemary

Rosemary, golden rosemary

that is born on the hill

without being sown

Rosemary, golden rosemary

that is born on the hill

without being sown

Oh my love

who told you

that the flower of the hill

was the rosemary

Oh my love

who told you

that the flower of the hill

was the rosemary

And that's it! But what is this song about?

It actually simply talks about rosemary, which is a

plant also used for cooking, for example,

and many other things. I'll put the translation

of the lyrics below this video here, so you can better understand

what the song is about. Now, I hope

you will continue to listen to traditional Portuguese music,

as it will help you to hear the language in a more

natural way. Furthermore, by learning

the songs, you are learning more vocabulary

and structures of the Portuguese language!

And that's it!

See you next time and "beijinho".
