Será que sou uma típica mulher portuguesa?
Olá! Olá! Mia Esmeriz aqui!
Tenho lido alguns comentários sobre os portugueses
em geral, e as mulheres portuguesas, em particular,
que me fizeram pensar: Será que sou uma típica
pessoa portuguesa? E será que sou uma típica
mulher portuguesa? Assim, fiz uma lista de coisas
que são supostamente típicas dos portugueses e das
mulheres portuguesas
(alerta de estereótipo!)
para verificar se sou ou não uma portuguesa típica.
Fiquem comigo até ao fim deste vídeo, porque vou
acabar com um grande mito que existe
sobre a mulher portuguesa!
Então, aqui vem a lista:
1 - As mulheres portuguesas têm muitas curvas.
Ok, gosto de pensar que tenho algumas curvas.
Mas eu definitivamente NÃO sou SUPER curvilínea.
Na verdade, eu costumava ser muito magra,
mas com a idade fiquei um pouco mais curvilínea,
mas não MUITO. Então,
acho que devo dizer que é NÃO.
2 - As mulheres portuguesas têm cabelos escuros.
Bem, isso é um sim para mim.
Eu tenho cabelo escuro
(embora agora eu tenha muitos tons de cinza...).
3 - As mulheres portuguesas têm pele bronzeada.
A minha pele NÃO é muito bronzeada. Mas fico
bronzeada se for à praia no verão. Portanto, embora
eu seja branca no inverno,
eu consigo ficar bronzeada.
4 - As mulheres portuguesas são baixas.
Este é um grande NÃO para mim. Eu não sou nada
baixa. Eu meço à volta de 1,77m e sempre fui muito
alta em comparação com as minhas amigas.
Quando eu era mais nova, isso até me incomodava
um pouco. É por isso que fiquei muito feliz quando
fui à Estónia e à Holanda, por exemplo, porque lá as
mulheres são mais altas, em geral.
5 - As mulheres portuguesas têm pestanas compridas.
Isso é um SIM para mim. A minha família inteira
tem pestanas grandes. É um traço de família!
6 - As portuguesas casam-se habitualmente
antes dos 26 anos.
Hmm.. nope! Eu ainda não sou casada!
7 - As mulheres portuguesas são reconhecidas pelos
seus dotes culinários e adoram experimentar os
diferentes pratos e cozinhas em casa.
Ahaha... não, eu não sou conhecida pelos meus
dotes culinários. Embora eu cozinhe, na verdade
NÃO amo cozinhar. Eu lá me arranjo,
mas não amo cozinhar…
Número 8…
As mulheres portuguesas dizem que
vocês devem fazer um like neste vídeo para as
ajudarem a tornar-se conhecidas em todo o mundo.
Ahaha… desculpem a piada! Mas vão lá dar o like...
8 - As portuguesas são fortes.
Eu tenho que concordar com isto. Eu acho que,
de alguma forma, sou uma rapariga forte, mas
também gosto de mimos ahaha.
9 - As mulheres portuguesas gostam de comer.
Sim, acho que gosto de comer. No entanto, não sou
obcecada por comida.
Mas se me derem um bom
prato - eu prefiro salgados do que doces,
na verdade - eu, em geral, comerei com prazer.
10 - As mulheres portuguesas são boas condutoras.
Devo dizer que sou uma boa condutora! Eu adoro
conduzir e adoro a liberdade que ter uma carta de
condução me deu! Eu tento evitar ir de carro
com muita frequência, por razões ambientais
(eu acho, eu ACHO, que todos nós
deveríamos estar a fazer isso!),
mas eu gosto de conduzir.
11 - As mulheres portuguesas falam dos
seus sentimentos com naturalidade.
Sim! Eu faço isso! Adoro falar sobre os meus
sentimentos com os meus melhores amigos. Isso
faz-me sentir ligada à outra pessoa.
Agora, estes três próximos factos, ou estereótipos,
são mais sobre os portugueses em geral, não
necessariamente apenas sobre as mulheres
portuguesas. Mas eu ainda queria ver se me
identifico com eles.
12 - Os portugueses amam tomar café.
Bem, eu não amo tomar café. Eu gosto de o fazer,
de vez em quando, mas não bebo café todos os
dias e certamente não sou viciada!
13 - Os portugueses gostam de beber vinho.
Isso é um NÃO para mim. Eu talvez gostasse de
beber um copo de vinho tinto de vez em quando,
mas a verdade é que não gosto. Portanto, raramente
bebo vinho. Eu gosto de sangria, no entanto.
Isso conta? Eu acho que não…
14 - Os portugueses amam o seu país.
Sim. Eu amo o meu país! Vejo as suas falhas e
queixo-me delas, mas adoro Portugal.
Então, o que acham? Eu qualifico-me como uma
mulher ou uma pessoa portuguesa típica? Digam-me
o que acham nos comentários abaixo!
Mas esperem! Não vão embora!
Ainda temos um mito para fazer desaparecer!
15 - Todas as mulheres portuguesas têm bigode!
Sim, acho que pode ser verdade!
NÃO, isso NÃO é verdade.
Temos cabelos escuros e de vez em quando alguém
pode ter o lábio superior meio peludo, mas em
geral as mulheres não têm bigode em Portugal!
Estou feliz por termos conseguido clarificar isso!

I have read some comments about Portuguese people
and Portuguese women in particular,
and that got me thinking: Am I a typical
Portuguese person? Am I a typical
Portuguese woman? So, I compiled a list of things
that are supposedly typical of a Portuguese person and of
Portuguese women
(stereotype alert!)
to check if I am a typical Portuguese or not.
Stay with me to the end of the video, because I will
bust a big myth that exists
about Portuguese women!
So, here is the list:
1- Portuguese women are very curvy.
Ok, I do like to think that I have some curves.
But I am definitely NOT SUPER curvy.
I actually used to be very skinny,
but with age I got a bit more curvy,
but not SUPER DUPER curvy. So,
I guess I have to say that is a NO.
2- Portuguese women have dark hair.
Well, this is a yes for me.
I do have dark hair
(although now I have a lot of greys...).
3 - Portuguese women have tanned skin.
My skin is NOT very tanned. I do get
tanned, though, if I go to the beach in summer. So, although
I am white-ish in winter,
I do tan.
4 - Portuguese women are short.
This is a big fat NO for me. I am not short at all.
My height is around 1,77m and I was always very
tall compared to my friends.
When I was younger, that even bothered me
a little. That’s why I was very happy when I
went to Estonia and The Netherlands, for example, because
there the women are taller in general.
5 - Portuguese women have long eyelashes.
That is a YES for me. My whole family
has big eyelashes. It is a family trait!
6 - Portuguese women are usually married
by the age 26.
Hmm... nope! I am not married yet!
7 - Portuguese women are renowned for
their culinary skills and they love to try the
different dishes and cuisines at home.
Haha… no, I am not renowned for my
culinary skills. Although I do cook, I actually
do NOT love cooking. I get by,
but I don't love cooking...
Number 8…
Portuguese women say that
you should give a thumbs up to this video to
help them get known around the world.
Haha… sorry for the joke! But please hit the like button...
8 - Portuguese women are tough.
I have to agree with this one. I do think
in some way I am a tough girl, but
I can also use some cuddles haha.
9 - Portuguese women like to eat.
Yes, I suppose I do like to eat. However, I am not
obsessed with food.
But if you give me a nice
dish - I prefer savoury than sweet
actually - I will eat it gladly.
10 - Portuguese women are good drivers.
I have to say I am a good driver! I love
driving and I love the freedom that having a driver’s
license gave me! I do try to avoid going with the car
too often, for environmentally reasons
(I think, I THINK, we
should all be doing that!),
but I do like driving.
11 - Portuguese women talk about
their feelings with ease.
Yes! I do! I love talking about my
feelings with my best friends. It
just makes me feel connected to the other person.
Now these next three next facts, or stereotypes,
are more about Portuguese people in general, not
necessarily only about Portuguese women.
But I still wanted to see
if I relate.
12 - Portuguese love to drink coffee.
Well, I don’t love it. I do like it,
though, now and then, but I don’t drink coffee every
day and I am surely not addicted to it!
13 - Portuguese like to drink wine.
This is a NO for me. I would have liked
to drink a glass of red wine now and then,
but the fact is I don’t. Therefore,
I very rarely drink wine. I do like Sangria, though.
Does that count? I guess not…
14 - Portuguese people love their country.
Yes. I do love my country! I can see its flaws, and
I do complain about them, but I do love Portugal.

15 - Portuguese women all have moustaches!
Yes, I think that might be true!
NO, that is NOT true.
We do have dark hair and now and then someone
might have some hair-ish upper lip, but in
general women do not have moustaches in Portugal!
I am glad we could get that sorted out!
